Chapter 3
What would make today feel productive?
What can wait until tomorrow?
This approach helps create a clearer sense of direction.
A long task list may look impressive, but a short list of meaningful priorities can be much easier to manage.
7. Do One Thing at a Time
Multitasking often feels productive because you are doing several things simultaneously.
However, constantly switching between tasks can make it harder to maintain concentration.
For example, imagine working on an important document while checking messages every few minutes.
Your attention moves from the document to the message, then back to the document. Even if each interruption lasts only a short time, repeated interruptions can make the work feel much more fragmented.
Whenever possible, give one task your full attention for a specific period.
Finish a section.
Answer a group of messages.
Then move to the next activity.
This simple structure can make work feel more organized.
8. Take Short Breaks
Working continuously for hours may seem efficient, but people naturally need moments of rest.
A short break does not have to mean scrolling through social media.
You can stand up.
Walk around the room.
Stretch your shoulders.
Look outside.
Drink some water.
Talk to someone.
Take a few minutes away from the screen.
The purpose is to give your attention a chance to reset.
A short pause can also help you notice whether you are becoming tired or distracted.
9. Drink Enough Water
Water is one of the simplest parts of daily health, yet it is easy to forget.
People can become busy with work, travel, household responsibilities, or entertainment and suddenly realize that several hours have passed without drinking anything.
Keeping a bottle or glass of water nearby can make the habit easier.
You can also create simple reminders connected to existing routines.
For example, drink water after waking up, before meals, after exercise, and during work breaks.
There is no need to turn hydration into a complicated system.
Making water easily available is often enough.
10. Make Meals More Enjoyable
Eating does not have to be complicated to be enjoyable.
A simple meal can become much more satisfying when you slow down and pay attention to it.
Instead of eating while standing in the kitchen or working at your desk, try sitting at a table.
Use a plate.
Put away unnecessary distractions when possible.
Take your time.
You may discover that you enjoy familiar foods more when you actually pay attention to them.
